Aneek’s greatest drawback is hisinability to sing in an original style prompting people to remark “yes, this boy adds a new flavour to every song he sings.” But he compensates that with his ability to reproduce the original song. He is just 18 years and his voice is yet to reach that full bodied maturity. Piya Haji Ali(received a lot of kudos from all the mentors)Īneek Dhar is a singer cast in the Sonu Nigam mould and does try to sing like him. Rut Agai Re(sang better than the original) Naina Thag Lenge(to me, this was his best rendering, I can’t get enough of it) Ma Tujhe Salaam(received a standing ovation from all the mentors)
Let the Music Play(once gain, Raja was in elements) Raja is quite popular among Indian voters and they always seem to want more from him whenever he picks up the microphone.Īllah Ke Bande Has de(this was the one that brought Raja recognition) Raja’s style and voice doesn’t suit soft romantic numbers, but when he sings those Sufi numbers he pours his soul, and divinity into them putting everyone in a trance. Some of his most memorable efforts on this show are mentioned below. Raja Hasan is a singer in the Sufi mould. These three singers together have epitomized the saying… “When the going gets tough, the tough get going.” All of them have come the hard way and have sung some memorable numbers. Raja Hindustani(Raja Hasan Sagar), Royal Cub of Bengal(Aneek Dhar), and Pakistan ke Mahabali(Amanat Ali) are great reservoirs of talent. Maybe, it was just not their day.ĭespite the sadness and the heart-burn that one felt on the ouster of some good singers, it is not possible to find fault with the three singers that have made it to the finals of the Challenge 2007. So, there is no shame in these singers being eliminated. On any other day, any one of these singers could have won the contest, but it was to their disadvantage that these singers found themselves face to face with not one or two to contend with but a dozen excellent singers. But, this is the first time that I came across a show where the final ten contestants were really up there with the best. In the past several years, I found that the talent hunt show threw up one or two really good singers. Most of the contestants are in their early teens, but some of them sing like established singers who sound like they are masters in their profession.
One thing that stands out in the present Saregamapa 2007 Challenge show is the immense talent on display. I’ve been a witness to some of the best talent in the music industry gracing the Saregamapa stage. I’ve been a regular watcher of Zee’s Saregamapa talent hunt show.
